DJ Bigga is proving that experince counts for a lot when it comes to playing out. He has a unique ability to mix n blend old skool garage
with the lastest big basslines. Bigga is a respected DJ with a properous future ahead of him. Here's what he had to say.
How did you get your name?
I got that name when i was about 14. My youth club leader called me Bigga because I was very muscular, and then name stuck.
How old are you?
27.
Where you from?
West Ham, East London.
What music do you DJ to?
US/UK Garage and old skool.
Describe yourself in one sentence.
"Open minded and never scared to try new things."
What inspired you to become a DJ?
My dad was the drummer for the band 'Hot Chocolate' he inspired me to work in the music industry just like he had done. I also loved watching Grooverider, Fabio and Randal back in the days of Acid and Hardcore - I knew i could DJ just as well if not better than those guys.
Who were your musical influences when growing up?
I used to love listening to UB40, Public Enemy and Karl 'Tuff Enuf' Brown. I also listened to Acid and Hardcore.
How long have you been working in the industry?
I've been DJing for seven years, the first event i ever did was at Powerhouse (now called EQ's). After that Pure Silk and Zoo entertainments gave me a few bookings. After that i established myself as their resident.

I've played in Ayia Napa, Falaraki, Ibiza, Switzerland, and Ireland.

Edge records 'Number 1' and more recently it has to be More Fire with 'Oi' and Heartless Crew with 'Superglue'
Do u play on radio?
I play on Freek FM 101.8FM on a saturday from 1600 to 1800.
What is your favouirte venue?
Camden Palace is by far the best venue.
Where do you see yourself in two years time?
I want to be producing and DJing in the UKG scene and maybe working for a Major record label as a producer.
